Mind you, I don't like him much myself, but let us at least have the charity to try to understand him. Look at his job situation. Look at his BOSS! Would you like to work for Manx? Imagine that the person whom you must bow down to every day is a doddering old idiot who puts you down in public and who is always ready to lash out and blame you for everything that goes wrong in the whole city. That's what Feral is up against. Combine that with the fact that Feral is an *extremely* proud fellow, and what you get is what you see: A bitter, disillusioned person who once, just once, would like to be able to show his boss that he isn't the incom- petent moron the boss thinks he is. Sadly, his own bitterness and pride cloud his judgement, and when he sees his chance, he tends to jump at it too quickly, and winds up making a bad situation worse. As for his treatment of the Swat Kats, that is easy to understand. It is said many times: they make him look bad. He is incapable of controlling the wild situations that arise in MegaKat City; I suspect that he is severely underfunded and that the training programs for his recruits are underbudgeted, which also would add to his feelings of hostility. He can't fix the problem, but the Swat Kats can, which means that as much as he can't stand it when they show up, he knows deep down that he NEEDS them to show up. He would probably hire them or at least work with them, if his pride would let him. Us Children of the Sixties know the phrase "walk a mile in my shoes." When you work for a pimple like Manx, then you can harsh on Feral. - ------ Dr. Samuel Konway Senior Devil's Advocate Avid Therapeutics Philadelphia, PA flogistn@nni.com ------------------------------ From: Ed Rudnicki Date: Wed, 30 Apr 97 18:21:49 EDT Subject: Re: Kat ratings >>Under the new TV ratings system, the SWAT Kats are rated Y7 (I assume this >>means the show isn't recommended for kids under 7 years of age due to its >>content). If you missed my earlier note, there is a contraversy on the fan fiction archive about whether it is appropriate to post NC-17 and R-rated fan fiction (including homosexuality) for SWAT Kats on the main SWAT Kat archive, or if they should be moved to their own section, or even their own page. I hope this gets through okay, I know it is a little off topic but I could use some help... Okay, In my fanfic, I'm thinking of featuring a bow, similar to how DJ has featured the Sword of Ecudor. However, I'd like to give it a really great name. Naming Weapons, you ask? Well yes. If anyone out there who has read JRR Tolkien's Hobbit books, or even perhaps the Chronicles of Narnia, (my favorite stories) you'd know what I mean. But in case you haven't I'll give you some examples... Gandalf's sword, Glamdring - elven for Foe-Hammer Orchrist - Goblin Cleaver Aragorn's sword, which gleams like fire and was forged in the west is called - - Anduril or elven for Flame of the West The Sting of Bilbo Baggins Now I know a few words in elven.., One of which I was thinking about using for the bow if I can't find a new one. Mellon - friend Tineuviel - Nightengale, which I have my own story to come up with later should I use it. However all the names I've given you above are only for swords and not for the more femine weapon, the bow. It should sound feathy and beautiful, yet not so weak... It must still have a name that says it can kill you in seconds. Now I'm going to be brutal in selecting a name, it will be very tough. All suggestions and ideas are welcome, and I thank you all very much! ------------------------------ End of kats-digest V1 #199 ************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Majordomo file: list 'kats-digest' file 'v01.n200' Date: Sat, 23 Aug 1997 06:15:31 -0400 (EDT) From: Majordomo@maxie.com To: GateKat@SWATKats.Net -- From: owner-kats-digest To: kats-digest Subject: kats-digest V1 #200 Reply-To: kats@maxie.com Errors-To: owner-kats-digest Precedence: bulk X-To-Unsubscribe: send the command unsubscribe kats-digest to majordomo@maxie.com kats-digest Tuesday, 20 May 1997 Volume 01 : Number 200 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Kaitan Dominica Date: Sun, 18 May 1997 23:57:51 -0700 Subject: Re: The many voices of Gary Owens... >Here are a few of Gary Owens' voice credits I know of, in addition to >Commander Feral: >- Birdman >- Blue Falcon (from Dynomutt) >- Space Ghost (the actual adventures, not SG Coast to Coast) >- Roger Ramjet >- Max's teacher, Mr. Hammerhead, in "Goof Troop" > http://voices.fuzzy.com/ has quite a collection of voice credits for the most popular shows. ------------------------------ From: "matmilam" Date: Mon, 19 May 1997 20:40:31 -0500 Subject: Kats IRC Channel This is a multi-part message in MIME format. - ------=_NextPart_000_01BC6494.E4C53C80 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Who wants to make an IRC Channel for the Swat Kats?
