Topics in this digest: 1. hey, finally! From: "Strike" ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 1 Date: Thu, 11 May 2000 11:54:02 -0600 From: "Strike" Subject: hey, finally! Hey all. For those of you who are annoyed that I haven't uploaded all the stuff that I said I would, I'm sorry! School's kept me busy. But now that finals are over, stuff's going to start happening. In about a half hour I'll be leaving to use the school's comps to upload all this stuff (modem would be too slow... I'll just use that good ol' T3.) Their location will be reflected on the page, but the screenshots won't have an html page to go along with them (and probably never will- there's too many)- they're just going to be in directory format. The stuff going up on my site this afternoon will include a bunch of screenshots, some animator drawings if I still have them (may put watermarks on them, they aren't signed or copyrighted,) everything from the dept of cartoons area of the SKs on CTN minus the interface, the original MPG and AVI versions of the movies, and any other SK file it seems that I have, including desktop icons, wallpaper, and anything else. Note: I don't remember where I got all of these. I'm going to try to credit them, but if you see something that I got wrong, please let me know (and don't get mad if I should have credited it to you!) (And no Rauhnee, I haven't forgotten about the updated link- I just haven't done a page update yet as per se- which should be done sometime next week, like Wednesday.) If anyone has any files they'd like me to hold on my site, you can upload it at ftp://ftp.whitestorm.com/incoming - which is whitestorm's anonymous ftp directory - and send me an e-mail that tells me the file is there, and so I know who to give credit to. I'm also willing to store large *SK* files for other people who don't want to hold them on their own site, but since I'm storing it, I reserve the right to link to it also. My goal with this is to create sort of a "SK file central," since there isn't exactly any new SK stuff incoming. Think I've yammered long enough... anyway, most of this should be done within a few hours. ~Strike www.whitestorm.com "I was known as the chief grave robber of my state." --Dan Quayle ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ From - Sat Jul 08 20:05:56 2000 Return-Path: Received: from h4.mail.home.com ([24.0.0.57]) by mail.rdc1.wa.home.com (InterMail vM.4.01.02.00 201-229-116) with ESMTP id <20000513100545.VVYV20387.mail.rdc1.wa.home.com@h4.mail.home.com> for ; Sat, 13 May 2000 03:05:45 -0700 Received: from mx3-w.mail.home.com (mx3-w.mail.home.com [24.0.0.53]) by h4.mail.home.com (8.9.3/8.9.0) with ESMTP id DAA11367 for ; Sat, 13 May 2000 03:05:45 -0700 (PDT) Received: from mr.egroups.com (mr.egroups.com [207.138.41.139]) by mx3-w.mail.home.com (8.9.1/8.9.1) with SMTP id DAA25163 for ; Sat, 13 May 2000 03:05:45 -0700 (PDT) X-eGroups-Return: sentto-160503-179-gatekat=home.com@returns.onelist.com Received: from [10.1.10.39] by mr.egroups.com with NNFMP; 13 May 2000 10:05:45 -0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Message-ID: <958212344.2343@egroups.com> Mailing-List: list SWATKats_Canon@egroups.com; contact SWATKats_Canon-owner@egroups.com Delivered-To: mailing list SWATKats_Canon@egroups.com Precedence: bulk List-Unsubscribe: Date: 13 May 2000 10:05:44 -0000 From: SWATKats_Canon@egroups.com Reply-To: SWATKats_Canon@egroups.com To: SWATKats_Canon@egroups.com Subject: [SWATKats_Canon] Digest Number 179 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mozilla-Status: 0000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer-Earn 300 Points from MyPoints.com for trying @Backup Get automatic protection and access to your important computer files. The only reason=20 that it still remains operational is that no other aircraft is a stable=20 enought platform for the AIM-54C. As for the AIM-9, the standard short range missile for most NATO contries,= =20 and the AIM-7, the only missle that was as dangerous to friendly targets as= =20 to hostile. Both these are in use throughout the world. The 20mm Cannon has been standard on all US and allied aircraft since the=20 end of the Korean War, with the noteable exception of the F-4 Phantom II. In conclusion, the F-14 is an overpublicised aircraft made famous in movies= =20 like 'Top Gun' and 'The Final Countdown' and in the television show 'JAG'=20 for it's flying capibilities (the fact that it fly's like a bus in close=20 quarters is beside the point)and its weapons payload (its origiinal design= =20 was of a supersonic, carrier based, all weather bomber!) It seems the Kats' Glovatrix multipurpose launchers/devices may not remain in the realm of SF for long. I just reviewed a presentation regarding weapons concepts for the light forces of the "Army After Next", which is to say the 2010+ time frame. One weapon concept is a launcher mounted on the soldier's forearm, weighing 10 lbs or less (ideally 5 lb), firing two types of payloads. The first is a multi-effect seeker projectile, in effect a mini-missile, with a 1000m range. The other is a short-range multiple projectile round for close quarter combat. A big emphasis is on hands-free operation. I read this and thought of T-Bone and Razor, for some reason... :-) Ed ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Wed, 24 May 2000 21:00:08 +0200 From: Christian Berger Subject: Re: can you tell me ? irobot@gmx.net wrote: > > Hi ! > Someone told me there were attempts of doing MPEGs of the > Swat Katts episodes. > I would really like to get my hands on video CDs of that ! > Does anyone have Informations about this ? > > Ian (A new guy) I'm the one Well It'll take some time, I think I'll regrab the 2 eppisodes I've already done to get a better quality for MPEG encoding. As to not having a creepling, that's probably just because a creepling would have been one more mold and cost more. They gave everybody odd weapons anyway... When did we ever see Viper with a gun thing? My search came up with two results, both animation cels. After looking at each one, they aren't animation cels, but rather, colored character sheets used by the animation studio. One is of Razor, and the other of T-Bone. Both are listing the minimum bid @ $40.00, good hunting if you want 'em... 'cause yer not gonna get any resistance from me. ;) The ending date is on June 3. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=343374937 (Razor) http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=343375625 (T-Bone) And to note, neither char has a mask colored, yet they have the tied portion of it (in black). Maybe the animators gave 'em clear masks... who knows. ;D Jake Bridges/Nukta Kupaya, Secondary Master SWAT Kats: The Rogue Squadron RPG (http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Palette/8458/) ~Hakuna Matata! It includes the 2 eppisodes: Kathastrophe and Chaos in Crystal. Well I also have something new, Brute Force grabbing. It means I grab an image a second giving you every character, every vehicle, every place, everything. I'll soon be able to put up my own server. That way I can put up a few epps at once for you to download.
