It features an odd tangent that demanded to be written. Copy-written characters belong to their respective owners, and are used within the realm of parody for entertainment. The ideas are mine, though they are heavily influenced by a rather odd dream I had. Do not redistribute this story without permission. No sex in this chapter, more plot development. Enjoy. ******************** Khan's tower stood majestically overlooking MegaKat City. Inside the office on the top floor was the owner of that building, a creature that demanded respect from all and got it, not to mention fear from some. Right now, fear was easy. Jake and Chance sat in the chairs they were in rooted to the spot. They had never seen Khan LOOSE his temper. And judging from Feral's worried face, neither had he. The only one who seemed at least a little bit prepared for it was Red. The remains of the large wooden desk lay in one corner of the office as Khan roared a primal roar and threw his chair across the room, adding it to the debris as it shattered into tiny pieces. "WHO do they think they ARE!?" the tiger demanded as he paced furiously. "I'll shut them down. I'll buy their entire damn company and force them to work as MAIL-CLERKS!!" He grabbed a potted plant that had the misfortune of being too close and threw it. It smashed against a wall and exploded. "I am going to make them PAY for this. Then I'll REALLY make them regret this!" he said with such menace that everyone I the room shuddered. "Enough." Feral said in a commanding voice, startling everyone, including himself. "I know you're upset, love." he said as he approached his mate. "So am I. They did this to both our friends and us. But right now we have to concentrate on the big picture. How do we free the others?" Khan sighed and then nodded. He was still clearly upset, a fact that was unnerving in and of itself, but he had more control now. He walked over to the others and sat down in one of the surviving chairs. "Question is, what do we do?" he said calmly, despite his rage. "I assume you two are going to attempt a jail-break as it were?" Chance nodded. "The three of us actually. We'll need Red to get around once we're in." Khan stood. "Five of us." he corrected. Jake and Chance looked at each other. They knew this was coming. "Don't argue." Khan said firmly, cutting Jake off before he could object. "You know I can't just leave this alone. It's too personal. I'm speaking out of turn, but I doubt Feral would either." Feral nodded, anger playing on his face a bit too. "Damn straight. We're going too." He said firmly. Chance stood. "No offense, Khan. But Jake and I are SWAT Kats, Red is too, in a way. Feral at least, was skilled as the head of the Enforcers. You don't have the combat experience..." He trailed off as the tiger looked at him. The glare could have melted stone and Chance actually took a step back in reflex. Then the face softened. "I tend to forget." Khan said evenly. "You don't know as much about me as I do about you. I knew you two were the SWAT Kats for months now." The others in the room looked up in surprise. "It pays to know who my allies are." Khan explained. "As for combat experience, you don't really think I spend ALL my time behind a desk do you? I have mastered more forms of martial arts than I can even pronounce. I work out rigorously daily, and not just so I can be with Feral when he does the same, though the showers afterwards are nice." "That may be, love." Feral said quietly. "But I don't want you to get hurt. I'm not sure you're ready for this." His tone was worried and affectionate. Khan stood. "Follow me." he commanded as he went to the elevator. Unsure of what else to do, the others did as instructed. Khan activated his private elevator that was inside his office. It was rarely used, and even Feral was unsure of where it went. The doors opened and Khan stepped inside. The others joined him a moment later. "Feral, love," Khan started as the doors closed. "Do not be angry, but I know how much you miss being the Commander for the Enforcers." The tiger inserted a small card into a slot in the panel and pressed a button. The elevator began to move. "Ever since you retired and Felina took over your position as Commander, you've been wishing you were back out there again. You, Jake and Chance, all have the same thing in common. An unbridled desire to help and protect. You love the conflict." Khan faced the group. "So do I." he said with an odd gleam in his eye. "When I was younger, it was a challenge to try and overpower someone physically, but it got too easy. I used to wrestle, box, play sports, anything to challenge me, but I got too good. That's why I went into business. Here I use my wits and cunning, but now even that no longer challenges me." The elevator came to a halt. As the doors opened on a dark chamber, Khan stepped out confidently. "I miss the challenge and when I realized you missed the same thing, the answer was obvious." Khan turned on the lights. All those in the elevator stared on in surprise. The room before them was actually a two story hanger. Inside was the last thing they expected to see. "The TurboKat?" Jake asked as he stepped into the room. "No." Khan said evenly. "But a remarkable likeness. I did have it modeled after your jet though." The room was almost filled with electronic devices and a rather large jet that took up most of the extra large room. It gleamed as if alive and aware of its audience. "It's bigger." Chance said, inwardly drooling at the hope of getting the thing airborne. "Khan." Feral said. "What is this?" The tiger answered by walking over to a large pair of lockers. On one was Khan's symbol, the other had Feral's family symbol. The tiger opened a locker and grabbed a helmet from within. As he placed it over his head, he answered with a question. "What does it look like?" Feral grinned. "Happy anniversary, love." The tiger added as he opened Feral's locker, showing him the carefully constructed outfit within. "Though a bit early, I think this is as good a time as any." ********************** Jake was amazed at Khan's resourcefulness. The T-Kat2, as Khan called the jet, was identical to the TurboKat in many ways except for size, making the SWAT Kats uncomfortable at how easy their security had been compromised. Khan assured them that only three individuals had any clue about the jet or its technology, and those three were trusted with Khan's very life. "They are my special private scientists." The tiger explained as he and Feral suited up. "They do ALL of my research for Khan industries and are completely trustworthy." "What makes you so sure?" Chance asked as he examined a device reminiscent of the Gloveotricks he and Jake wore. "Because they are strong believers in an ancient samurai code." Khan explained as he zipped up his uniform. "If they lie or betray me, then they'll kill themselves." Jake looked up in surprise and almost shuddered when he realized the tiger was not kidding. Feral zipped up his uniform and faced his friends. "What do you think?" Jake, Red, and Chance were very impressed. Kahn had used similar designs as the SWAT Kat gear, but had added his own touches. The suits were a mixture of orange, black and blue. The outfit itself was mostly black with orange highlights along the calf muscles and arms. Dark blue stripes made it decidedly tiger like as they reached up and curved along the arms, legs, and sides of the pair. The helmets concealed their identity as the blue showed through under the helmet which was marked with an odd symbol marked in orange. It was placed on the side of the helmet and on the arms of each feline. It bore a striking resemblance to the mixture of Feral's clan symbol and Khan's personal symbol, but was stylized so as to be unrecognizable. The T-Kat2 was colored the same as the outfits. Bright orange that looked almost like flames on a black surface with blue highlights. Jake said what the all three were thinking as they looked at the pair. "I think we need to have a serious overhaul with our equipment." "Here, here." Chance said. Khan grinned. "Have you ever known me NOT to think of such things in advance?" he said as he pointed across the room. Jake turned and grinned seeing the locker marked T-Bone and Razor. "They're even in your colors too." Khan said. "And most of the technology is the same. There's even a few spare suits that Red can use. I planned on telling you so that in emergencies, you can use this hanger as a second base of operations." "Khan." Jake said with a smile as he looked at the tiger. "You are just too dangerous." The tiger merely grinned. "The equipment is nice, but we'll need the modified equipment back at the hanger." Red said as Jake and Chance took a moment to examine the suits. "The security system is totally unlike anything else. We'll need my gear to get in." Feral nodded. "Then we'll drop you off at your place and go from there." I can't remember if it holds 8 or 10 max. IT's much bigger that the TurboKAt, and (Though I know I didn't mention this.) was designed to have plenty of room for a series of special toys Khan has his scientists working on.
